Beautiful building, very rustic with high wood beam ceilings. Took the family on a Sunday for lunch. I would say the food was just slightly above average. People said the weekday lunches are better. I need to come back and give that a try.

I ate at Tabor Road Tavern with coworkers/business associates so my pics were limited but we all enjoyed this restaurant. We had a party of 10 people and had made a reservation in advance. We had a small room just for our party. We ordered several appetizers for the table: calamari, cauliflower, salads, etc. for the main course, the table ordered a variety of items. A few ordered the Beef Wellington, some the halibut. I went with a burger and the truffle fries. It was good, but not outstanding (wish I'd chosen something else). The rest of the people were very happy with their meals. The drink menu was varied, including nonalcoholic cocktails, seasonal adult cocktails, and also wine (by the bottle or glass). The dessert menu also looked amazing. We did not order any however. My observation is that the desserts were on the expensive side (like $15 each). The rest of the menu was appropriate in price. Our server was really great. Considering the size of our table, she did a fantastic job. Friendly, not hovering but no one ran out of water or other beverage. The speed of the food was perhaps a bit slow but considering the size of our party, it was very good. Overall, I can recommend this spot for a large party.

We came here for an anniversary dinner and I even put it on our resy reservation to see what would happen. When we sat down, there was a happy birthday note on our table which gave us a laugh. We started with the spicy passionfruit Margs, lobster bites and pretzels. Everything was awesome. Really, we were so into the lobster bites. I got the lobster pasta and my fiancé got the beef Wellington. Both were amazing. And our desserts? Awesome; he got the bread pudding, I got the cookie skillet thing. Service on the other hand? Meh. We were our waiters only table, he just seemed sort of disinterested? He asked us at the end of the meal whose birthday it was, and we told him that it was our anniversary. He said he would have brought us a champagne toast if he knew. So sweet! And he did! Except for when we got the bill we noticed we were charged for it? Which we have no problem paying for what we consume, but also we wouldn't have ordered it? I don't know. But overall, awesome meal and awesome ambiance. Really enjoyed it. Food came fast too.

Cozy and rustic vibes with a comfort style food menu to match. Tabor Road is part of Harvest Restaurant Group and you can definitely tell - they always do a great job with the decor. We started out with maple biscuits with honey butter. These came served hot and fresh and they were divine. For my main I went with the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli. Usually this dish has a lighter sauce with olive oil and garlic, but this was full out mac and cheese. This was a pleasant surprise though. It was so decadent and gooey and the breadcrumb topping added the perfect crunch. The portion was also very generous. We posted up at the bar (which has a great ambiance) and enjoyed everything with a few beers. Even though this is labeled as a 'tavern' it's definitely a nicer dining experience, and you can expect to see $40-$50 entrees like steak and lobster. I'm not sure if I'd come back with my kids, but for date night it's a great option.

The food is most excellent, pleasantly prepared and presented with the benchmark service that should be the standard, all in a wonderful open barn like old/ new world space with the warmest ambiance that makes connects one's self comfort level to the foods making them taste that much more pleasing to the body. The Smoked Turkey & Brie Melt herb mayo, arugula, chutney, raisin pecan bread!!! Is amazing, must taste and see.

Made an early reservation on a Friday and were able to secure a table by the fireplace. There were four of us, and we started at the bar for a quick cocktail. I had a ginger-beer fizz thing which was tasty - I appreciated the heavy ginger flavor (but I couldn't really taste any booze). The place itself is beautiful - an upscale tavern, with a few little private areas that would be perfect for a group dinner or private party. Once seated, we ordered a few appetizers. The group decided on the chicken sesame potstickers, the tuna tartare, and the burrata. all three were delicious but nothing was really "life-changing". The guys had the pork chops, which seemed to be tasty. Both looked cooked well and juic - very thick and came with some vegetable/potato to round out the meal. My friend ordered the chicken pot pie and that was delicious as well - very flaky and a very rich, thick broth inside. Because I knew I would be pretty full from the apps, I went for just the small ceasar salad. I was surprised the dressing wasn't the creamy kind - a bit more acidic than I was imagining. The real earner of stars in this review was the deserts. The guys weren't interested but we opted for a vanilla bean creme brulee and the cinnamon roll bread pudding. OMG our eyes hit the backs of our heads. That bread pudding was simply to DIE for and I spent 2 hours at home googling recipes to try and recreate it. Our server did switch halfway through the meal without them telling us (until after the swap), but we were checked on relatively frequently, given good recommendations, and were left alone to chatter amongst ourselves which was nice. Overall - a great experience and I'd be interested to return again!

Had a wedding rehearsal dinner here so we had a preset menu and the entire back room. The service was good and the food was great. There was good music playing and the vibe was just very fun. This is definitely a good after work spot or a date night spot

Excellent dinner last night at Tabor Road Tavern! I've driven past this restaurant on Rt 10 in Morris Plains hundreds of times, so glad we finally dined there. What hits you when you walk in is how beautiful it is inside. The high ceilings, the natural wood, and plenty of fireplaces make such a nice setting for dinner, especially on a winter night. We were a group of 4 and all of us thought the food was delicious. I started with a Maple Spice Old Fashioned cocktail which went down smooth. The Just Baked Cheddar Onion Biscuits were very good, as was the New England Clam Chowder. Our entrees included the Filet, Pork Chop, Strip Steak, and my Slow Braised Short Ribs. No complaints, everything was delicious! The restaurant is much larger than I expected, but was packed on a Friday night. Definitely make reservations if you're going. Our server was excellent. Prices for this level restaurant were reasonable. I give it a thumbs up!
